European English

European English:
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as 'Euro-English' .

In the first year, 's' will replace the soft 'c'. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard 'c' will be dropped in favour of 'k'. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter. There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome 'ph' will be replaced with 'f'. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where! more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent 'e' in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as
replasing 'th' with 'z' and 'w' with 'v'.

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary 'o' kan be dropd from vords kontaining 'ou' and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl.

Autumn Colours

I don't know where september has gone. I'll try to catch up writing once a month. Here we go!!!
My freezer stopped working so I had one delivered today silver in colour. I had a busy september clearing Betty's flat. Anyway it is now clean and empty and for sale. Her sister needs support now. I went to Mulberry house for a quiet day with a friend, it was brilliant. The grounds are so lovely to be quiet and reflect on God. THe tuesday group meeting in my house has been uplifting and supporting and sharpening each other and be accountable to each other. The ladies chinese meal was excellent. I got to know Amy and had a laugh on our table. The lydia prayer & intercession has been stimnlating, we had a county lydia day where everyone was smiling although they must all go through trials and pain that life throws at us. Choir practice is keeping me busy at present I had to put swimming on hold for this term. Paul's 80th birthday was fun. It was hard work having new carpets in my lounge/diner, bedroom and prayer room. Now after 15 years I have sorted carpetsand decorating in the whole house. I have been involved in prayer for persecuted christians from different churches. This month we met in my house It made me think about diversity in prayer at least the Lord knows and hear us. I had my garden landscaped from 18th september with the weather it was prolonged and then He couldn't get turf anyway it is now completed. I have a semicircle of turf front and back, I call it my football pitch and small pebbles all round 4 tons of it and shrubs scattered about intermingled with my flower pots with a serpentine stepping stones path in the shape of feet made with natural sandstone, supposedly low maintenance. I have taken a challenge of varnishing my front door, shed door and all the window sills and staircase. I also painted the shed window, the drain pipe, the back door, the fence, the gate and the utility room. Praise the Lord no disaster with my enterprise. yesterday My neighbour pruned my rose bushes while I picked all the leaves off the pebbles and levelling it all with a thick stiff brush. Praise the Lord no more weeds. I have been watering my lawn and nurturing it. I have not been meeting with my friend for prayer on a tuesday because of bible cafe. I have been taking my neighbour out once a month because of retirement and problems with her daughter and sister she is now depressed. I hope they come to the carol service. Took 4 people to Witham to the christian Healing trust teaching day which was so good talki9ng about getting rid of roots in our lives and prayer afterwards. I had a new mattresss delivered which I purchased on bank holiday monday with an amazing discount. No more expenses for a long time now.
I had such a lovely birthday this year, with the postal stike I'm still having cards and parcels. To date I have 17 cards, 3 ecards and 2 phonecalls. I went to 3 lunches, 2 evening meals and one cream tea at Mulberry with friends and lots of pressies. the measure you give is the measure you receive. I'm still waiting for a card form mauritius which is still in the post. I hope it is not lost. I had friends come for the day on saturday 13th. It was sunny we had lunch out and dinner here. We have a village market with organic vegetables and crafts and jewellery. I got a pair of turquoise earings. My neighbour came with me on friday 19th october.
Lord help us to learn that we can ascend the heights of prayer not by the reason of our words alone, but by the attitude which underlies them. The attitude determines the altitude. Lord cleanse us in the secret places and in the hidden depths. Amen
